Skeffling Village Hall. 6kW turbine on 15m mast – installed February 2007.
The Turbine has performed very well over the past year. It hasn’t broken any records but on the other hand it has fulfilled its function and provided all the power required in the Village Hall and then some. The proceeds from the surplus has been invested for future maintenance and eventual replacement.
Meadowfield Primary School – 15kW on 15m mast. Installed August 2008.
The school wind turbine was officially opened by the Right Honourable Hilary Benn MP, the local Member of Parliament and Secretary of State for the Environment, Food & Rural Affairs. Mike Shaw, Chair of Governors, gave a short speech highlighting the importance of addressing climate change issues in school and the school choir gave a short performance.
Bowland Wild Boar Park. 6kW turbine on 15m mast – installed February 07.
This is a very popular tourist attraction in the Forest of Bowland. The site has a café, visitor centre and schoolrooms. It has no connection to the National Grid and is totally dependent on the 6kW Proven turbine and solar panels and backup diesel generator. The system guarantees freedom from power cuts the can cope with heavy demand without resorting to backup.
York EcoDepot. 15kW turbine on 15m mast – installed September 2007.
The multi award-winning York EcoDepot is an exciting demonstration of a sustainable development that has been designed to deliver a low carbon footprint. This is the depot for the Neighbourhood Services directorate, the EcoDepot is highly water and energy efficient. The site incorporates renewable energy and rain water harvesting.
